The Shirt: Comfort Colors 1717 Garment-Dyed Tee

Comfort Colors dyes this shirt after it's sewn rather than before, and that one decision is what you feel and see. The color settles into the cotton with a soft, lived-in character instead of a flat factory finish, and it ages into something better rather than washing out. At 6.1 oz/yd² the cotton carries real weight — it hangs off the shoulders instead of clinging, and it won't go thin under the lights at the lounge.

The body is tubular, with no side seams, so nothing twists around your ribs after a few washes. Double-needle stitching at the hems and sleeves is what keeps a heavyweight shirt in one piece season after season. It's pre-shrunk, so what comes out of the dryer is the shirt you bought.

Every design is printed direct-to-garment, so the graphic sits in the fabric rather than on top of it — soft to the touch, no cracking. Garment-dyed cotton takes DTG ink especially well: prints land rich and settle in with the shirt as it breaks in.

Fit & Sizing

Heads up: this tee runs relaxed and roomy next to our standard Softstyle fit — wider through the body with a boxier shoulder. Want that oversized, broken-in look? Stay true to size or go up. Prefer something closer to the body? Order one size down.

Measurements in inches, taken flat. Garment dyeing brings natural shirt-to-shirt variation, so allow about 1½" of tolerance.

To find your size, lay a shirt you already love flat, measure across the chest just under the arms, and match it to the Width row.
